Last updated: June 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how 3DGoldsmith collects, uses, stores, and shares personal data when you use our website and online academy.
By creating an account or enrolling in a semester, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.
What personal data we collect
We collect the following personal data to operate the academy:
- Account information: name, email address, and any profile details you provide.
- Authentication data: login credentials managed by our authentication provider (we do not store passwords directly).
- Coursework and files: lesson submissions, exam uploads, instructor feedback, and related messages.
- Progress and completion records: which lessons you have viewed, submitted, and completed, and any certificates issued.
- Payment information: handled by Paddle, our payment processor and Merchant of Record. We do not store full card numbers or bank details.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and cookies or local storage tokens needed to keep you signed in.
How we use your data
We use your personal data to:
- Create and manage your student account;
- Deliver the curriculum, unlock lessons, and track your progress;
- Review and grade your assignments;
- Issue verifiable Certificates of Completion;
- Process tuition payments through Paddle;
- Respond to support, refund, and privacy requests;
- Keep the platform secure and prevent fraud or abuse.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Who we share data with
We share personal data only with service providers that help us operate the academy:
- Paddle — our payment processor and Merchant of Record, for tuition billing, tax compliance, invoicing, and refund handling.
- Supabase — our backend hosting and database provider, for secure account storage, data persistence, and authentication.
- Bunny — our video content delivery network, for streaming lesson videos securely to enrolled students.
- Professional advisers — such as legal or accounting professionals, when necessary to protect our rights or comply with the law.
Each of these providers is contractually bound to use your data only for the services they provide to us and to maintain appropriate security measures.
Data retention
We keep your account and coursework data for as long as your account is active, so you can retain lifetime access to purchased semesters. If you delete your account, we will remove or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable time, except where we are required to keep it for legal, tax, or security purposes.
Payment records may be retained for a longer period to comply with tax and accounting obligations.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, restrict, or delete your personal data, and to object to or withdraw consent for certain processing. Under GDPR and CCPA-style frameworks, you may also have the right to request a copy of your data or to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at school@3dgoldsmith.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe, typically within 30 days.
Cookies and essential storage
We use essential cookies and browser storage (such as localStorage) to keep you signed in, maintain your session, and protect account security. These are strictly necessary for the service to function and cannot be disabled without breaking sign-in.
We do not currently use analytics or marketing cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for consent where required by law.
International transfers
Some of our service providers operate in the United States and other countries. When personal data is transferred outside your country of residence, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or other legally recognized transfer mechanisms.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page with a new "Last updated" date. If we make material changes that affect your rights, we will notify you by email or through the platform.
